Septic System Install in Dresden, ME

This is an Eljen In-Drain septic system that we installed in Dresden, ME. This one was done in the middle of January. We can install septic systems year round, even here in Maine, but it does take some special precautions to ensure that frost is not allowed to penetrate underneath the system. For this system, we just watch the weather for a warm spell, the whole system was installed and covered back over in less than 48 hours while the temperatures were above freezing.

You can see here the progression of the leach field assembly. First the area is excavated to the proper depth, then a bed of clean drain sand is laid down level. The Eljens are the black, plastic pieces assembled in rows. Finally a distribution box and a series of pipes distributes the waste water evenly across the surface of the Eljens.

Leach Field Replacement in Cumberland, ME

This was another winter leach field install. The old field of concrete chambers was failing fast and waiting for spring was not an option. The project started with cutting and installing a road to access the leach field area. After the old system was dug out and disposed of a new Eljen In-Drain system was installed to service a four bedroom home.

After the leach field install was complete, the finish ground cover over the area was wood chips, and the access road was removed to restore the area back to original condition.

Septic System and Finish Site Work in Falmouth, ME

This project in Falmouth required many different pieces. The original septic design given for the property was unworkable for a number of reasons. We came in with a trusted site evaluator and came up with a much better plan that worked well for the property. What we installed was a four bedroom septic system of Eljen In-drains as well as a one piece tank and pump station.

The entire site then required a lot of grading work and finishes. We installed three frost piers for the deck on the back of the house, and used wood chips for ground cover and finish that we had made while clearing for the septic system.

Garage Foundation in Brunswick, ME

This is a foundation for a garage that we completed in Brunswick. The specifications on this project were very involved, with the frost wall being placed directly on clean ledge. The footing required an entirely custom built form which was scribed to the ledge. On top of that footing was a standard eight inch concrete wall. Perimeter drainage was installed both around both the interior and exterior perimeters. The inside was backfilled to the level of the finish slab with three quarter inch compacted stone. Finish ground cover of wood chips was applied around the outside of the foundation with some three quarter stone for drip edge.
