Durham Maine Site Work For A New Home
This is a Frost Protected Shallow Foundation installed by Spear Head Excavation in Durham, Maine. These pictures showcase the forms built and ready to pour with insulation, rebar reinforcement, under slab drain plumbing, and the radiant tubing installed for the future radiant heating system.
On the day of concrete pouring everyone is up early. A full crew works to pour the concrete into place and then get a good finish on the surface.
The foundation being level and square are critical for the house to be built.
Skilled finishers here work to create a smooth finish surface on the concrete slab.
The finished slab then has all of the forms stripped off, and is backfilled with clean drainage sand and a drainage system around the perimeter.
Spear Head Excavation also installed the septic system. It is an Eljen In-Drain leach field. It is made up of twenty-one Eljen units with a series of perforated piping to release the waste water evenly across the surface of the units.
